Settlers 5 is an expansion to the Settlers of Catan board game that was released in October 2018, to commemorate the game's 25th anniversary. It will have many new elements, including a cooperation mode with multiple people playing one computer simultaneously. The main feature of this iteration is additional content drawn from other games owned by current series producer Klaus Teuber, this includes concepts drawn from Carcassonne and Elasund. The content for this event is drawn primarily from the following games: There are five different resource types in Settlers 5: wood, bricks, metal, stone and food. Food represents common units of food units used by all players at the same time. X: A resource marker indicates the location of an X asset. X units may be used to build settlements or roads on neighbouring hexes. S: A settlement resource is collected by a player and used to construct roads and settlements on adjacent hexes. Upon creation, a new settlement is made adjacent to the player's initial settlement on any free tile. X units may be collected from an S asset. T: A trade resource is collected from trade posts located on some of the longest routes between settlements, or as a reward for winning a trading competition. In this event, players may collect additional T resources from other players as a reward for trading with them during the game. X units may be collected from an S asset or traded with other players. X is also the resource used to pay for the cost of building roads on vacant hexes, if available. R: A road resource is collected by a player and used to connect settlements together. A new road between two settlements is constructed adjacent to the connecting settlement on any adjacent tile. X units may be collected from an S asset or traded with other players. The first player to pay the cost of constructing a road on vacant hexes earns an additional space for their settlement there. I: An industrial resource is collected by a player and used to produce goods, which are then traded with neighbours who are producing the same type of good. For example, a player with three food and two brick settlements will be able to produce and sell 2 wheat and 1 brick. X units may be collected from an S asset and traded with other players (and used to pay for the cost of city improvements). C: A castle resource is gained when a player builds two settlements adjacent to each other. The player may then place a castle on any free space adjacent to the outermost settlement, which counts as an additional settlement tile for scoring purposes. When you gain access to one of these tiles, you use your C resource in the same way as if you built a new settlement. However, once that castle is built, no further settlements can be built in that hex without building another castle first. X: A caravan resource is gained when a player builds two settlements adjacent to each other. The player may then place a caravan on any free space adjacent to the outermost settlement, which counts as an additional settlement tile for scoring purposes. When you gain access to one of these tiles, you use your C resource in the same way as if you built a new settlement. However, once that caravan is built, no further settlements can be built in that hex without building another caravan first. S: As soon as you have built two or more settlements on tiles with S assets, they are upgraded into cities and count as city tiles for scoring purposes. X units may be collected from an S asset. cfa1e77820
